Hi Nerio and Chai, The answer to your question is that contemplative prayer does not bring about the right kind of spiritual growth but instead has caused many people to fall away from Biblical faith in the one true God. Instead of trying to escape…

Thanks John. Your discussion is quite lengthy and informative. Question though, thus contemplative prayer brings about the right spiritual growth or not?
September 29
The practice of contemplative prayer or meditation is different than Christian prayer or meditation. While biblical meditation involves a deep, continuous thinking about something such as God and His Word, contemplative prayer is just the opposite.…

I think it would be good for everyone John or Nerio if you explained what you mean by contemplative prayer.
September 28
The spiritual formation tends to lead to a new age, ecumenical and interspiritual worldview that all religions lead to God which is oppoitie to what Jesus Himself and scripture teaches. Contemplative prayer is not a biblical form of prayer but is a…

About Me:
I'm a volunteer pastor/worker, a social entrepreneur, a lecturer and resource speaker, a technical consultant in the semiconductor industry both of process and equipment, a full-time father and husband.

My family lives in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines and currently promoting the Edge Radio Project not only in Bohol where i came from but also where i can possibly be. Every school/librarian that I visit for my magazine business, i always give copies of Word 4U Today. When the school subscribe to my company, we always give every quarter copies of W4U to all library staff, school officials and librarians and the library copy.

Our way to evangelize the school system is thru W4U distribution, insertion of tracks to the magazines, initiating subscriptions to Victory magazine from Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Enjoying Everyday Life magazine from Joyce Meyer Ministries and then giving the copies to the librarians, school officials and library.

We donate back issues and these christian magazines to public libraries in Dumaguete City and Tagbilaran City. We also donate various titles of technical magazines to schools in the provinces including both those who subscribed and did not subscribed to us.

God has given me a vision of to start a youth/young adult empowerment and leadership development" program using boat ministry as main avenue of activity to reach out to the new generation of young people living in the islands sorrounding Bohol and other Visayas islands and it will start very soon.

Currently I'm enrolled at the Ateneo de Manila - School of Government, Rockwell Makati taking up "Social Entrepreneurship Laboratory Course". This is a one semester certificate program with saturday classes only every week that help people with burdens to do social programs fine tune their passion into detailed plans and actions prior to launching them. Also a way to get partners, connections and coaching from the world's leading social entrepreneurs. The program i am currently studying and preparing is an outreach social enterprise that will be called "Youth Matters (Phils.)". This will have a 2-pronged program approach. One is the organizing of the youth/young adult under the program to be called "Youth Company", patterned after the name of Jesus Company by the Jesuits, and the other one to be called "Youth Coach", a community of successful individuals and the organizations that they represent that will sign up as "life coaches" to the youth communities.

Please check out the blogsite of our social enterprise at: http://www.philippineyouth.blogspot.com

Thank you and BERAKAH!

MUSIC IS THE WEAPON OF THE FUTURE

I'm sure you have a T-shirt that has some prints on it. As i was commuting in a jeepney a week ago, the driver's assistant who is getting the fares is wearing this black shirt with a phrase printed on its back that reads, "MUSIC IS THE WEAPON OF THE FUTURE". This jeepney ride was just a few days after i attended the conference opener of RTA 4.0 at the Union Church of Manila. I hope some of you were able to attend that conference. This is the first time that i missed attending the conference in i… Continue

The Long Tail

If you attended the RTA3 last April, Ptr. Chuck presented on this topic. It was quite an eye opener for me and i think it was the topic that registered the most learning about "new media" that RTA3 promoted. Though it was a time-limited presentation, Ptr. Chuck made it clear and easily understood with his examples of case studies like the Nine Inch Nails and the Bleeding Love (can't remember all examples he pointed out).

My understanding then was considered limited. But thanks God, i got a copy… Continue

I'm so glad that you guys are a part of our network. Thank you for all your catalytic comments and questions. You stir the pot and get the conversation going. It's important to keep the church talking and not just accepting the status quo. Keep up the good work.

Wow! thanks for the update. the one that has been implanted in my vision is for use in evangelization of the islands. it will carry a generator to support the electricity needed to demo to the people especially the schools in the islands about the edgeradio as well as be able to present to them using lcd projectors and movies. i havent got any idea as to the lenth but definitely its going to be a bigger one that can hold enough people for short missions and should be able to travel within distant islands. During the redeem the airwaves conference just last week, this has been added to the details. As well as putting up a site that will dedicate this vision to generate support that will convert to finances to carry out the ministry.

Thanks again to both of you for sharing with me this valuable information.

Godbless....

Hello! welcome d2 sa Emerge! I read ur vision abt the boat ministry...that's exciting naman! Rob and I are working on a 48footer boat too and we want to use it for the ministry as well. If there's a house of prayer...ours will be a boat of prayer. We're still thinking about the name that we're gonna give the boat. God bless you, your family and your ministry. PS. Lagay ka picture nyo para masaya :-)
