By and large, I think this article is reflective of the Western church. The problem with the church in the rest of the world is that the Western church has been the role model for everyone else. I think that Colson is right about how we have watered…

About Me:
I'm 100% Filipino. My last name was pronounced "Bru'se" in the Philippines (it sounds good too if you try saying it with a French accent). I enjoy karaoke singing and I eat rice everyday (brown rice because its healthier). I serve as the Program Specialist and blogger for BreakPoint the Christian worldview ministry of Prison Fellowship- a ministry founded by Chuck Colson who happens to be the spiritual mentor of my hero, Filipino martyr Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino. I have a hot and gorgeous girlfriend and wife (two persons in one), and two beautiful children. I’m a former “iskolar ng bayan” who moved to the US in 2000 to pursue a new career and graduate school. I constantly daydream of going back to the Philippines soon (I will after grad school). I’m a work in progress. I used to be confused and over-influenced by others. But know I am driven and influenced by our one and only "living bread" Jesus Christ.

Purple Spots and Resilience

About three weeks ago our 5-year-old daughter started to complain about a red “bug bite” on the bottom of her foot. We didn’t give it too much attention because we thought it was just a simple mosquito bite that usually goes away. Until a few hours later she was in excruciating pain and her leg was swollen and almost covered with purple spots.

A rush to the ER revealed that Isabelle has Henoch-Schonlein purpura, or HSP. It’s a rare condition where the blood vessels get inflamed, usually after a… Continue

Is the Church Failing Our Society?

My big boss Chuck Colson was interviewed by TIME recently and he had some interesting things to say about the current Christian church. Thought what he said was so important and applies not only to the Christian churches in America but also around the world. He talks about how churches today can and are failing society by loosing its sights on its true purpose of making people holy and disciples of Chris… Continue

Elvis, Michael and Jesus

The kingmakers of the world of entertainment had brought us two larger than life icons: Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. Surely, they will be remembered for a very long time.

The problem is that the world never delivers. At the end of the day, it always fails to make sense of a life it had birthed and orchestrated. Elvis and Michael shared the same "fame and fortune" fate. Lisa Marie who knew them both testifies to that. Some of us who became fans of either… Continue

Corazon Aquino, an Icon of Democracy

(Originally posted on The Point blog)

"We Americans like to think that we taught Filipinos democracy -- well, tonight, they're teaching the world." -- Former CBS anchor Bob Simon

Filipinos around the world are grieving for Corazon Aquino, who died last Friday. She was a great leader and an icon of democracy, not only to her country but also around the world.

Cory was an… Continue

Movie Thread - What Movies Do You Recommend?

I like good movies specially when it has themes that can help introduce our faith to non-believers. Its not only the Christian themed movies that can reflect our faith but even Hollywood films (yes, Hollywood) can be used to find Biblical truth in the stories and characters it shows on… Continue

Yes will do bro. I requested digitally remastered copy from 700 Club just last year and they gave me one after they found it deep in their old old archives. I got it on DVD. ;)

I enjoyed reading your profile information, hahaha! I will try and post a Ninoy video soon which was his interview with Pat Robertson in the 80's where he mentioned Chuck Colson and how the Lord touched him. He also is one of my heros. I do consider him a Christian martyr. God bless you brotha'

Oh ya, cool name by the way... ;)
